The Type CL6923 Intelligent Device Interface (IDI) integrates programmable logic controllers and other intelligent devices into a PRoVOX® Process Management System. The IDI is rack mountable and provides connection for the programmable logic controllers or other intelligent devices, to the Control I/O bus.

The Control I/O bus is multi-drop coaxial cable, using BNC connectors to connect the IDI to SR90 or SRx Controllers.

The IDI can emulate as many as 72 PROVOX I/O cards with a total of 1152 channels. The IDI emulates the following card types:

• Discrete Input/Output (DIO)
• Analogue Input/Output (AIO)
• Smart Input/Output (SMART I/O) {Primary Variables only}
• Pulse Count Input (PCI)
• Time Proportional Output (TPO)
• Weigh Scale Interface (WSI)

The IDI supports the following 4 communications protocols:

• Modbus RTU PLC
• Allen-Bradley PLC (basic and PLC-5)
• PCIU Simulation
• Special Interface
